Cure for stress

Sometimes I think: what’s wrong with my life? You might be asking yourself the same question. Today, stuck in another traffic jam, I finally got it: we try to do too many things faster than it takes.

Just keep track of your usual day:

  • Waking up to the hideous beeping of the alarm clock, gulping down your obligatory dose of caffeine, checking YouTube morning stream and answering countless messages while having a pale imitation of a wholesome breakfast…

  • Then hopping behind the car wheel to take your kids to school and your own sleepy body to work, then hustling, bustling and losing pounds of neurons at the office, having an even less healthier lunch at Taco Bell, continuing with the office fuss…

  • Then hopping behind the car wheel again, driving to school, receiving a bunch of complaints about your little monsters’ behavior and performance, scolding them on the way home, knocking together a quick family dinner while trying to watch football and play poker on your tablet…

  • And when you think you can finally relax and have the rest of the evening to yourself, it turns out there is something wrong with the garden sprinkler and you have to spend another hourstaring hopelessly at the toolset box and remembering how to hold a screwdriver.

Sounds familiar?

Yes, that’s much like my daily life goes. Only instead of an office suit I wear a scuba diving one. The problem is that we try to squeeze too much into our schedule and overload our nervous syste

m because it’s simply impossible to deal with that immense list of checkpoints in one single day. We have to spare minute to just stop and clear our head. Can you put all the stuff you have to do aside for half an hour and just sit back without thinking about anything? It’s very hard! But we need to evolve that skill if we hope to get rid of nervous breaks and panic attacks. If you can’t seem to relax on your own, try listening to peaceful music or looking at a serene picture. I can even recommend a site where you will find tons of nice colorful images to tune you to a positive wavelength. Just check out this painting called ‘Morning Stream’ here. The artist’s name is Leonid Afremov and I’m sure his works will amaze you with sparkling colors and incredible style. All these pictures are also sold online, so you can snatch a piece of art therapy at a rather affordable price!
